:: Candle Post #14 :: Why Should We Raise Our Consciousness for the Next World? ::
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
In verse 138 of Kalâmê Mowlâ, NOOR Mowlana Murtazâ Ali (a.s.) exhorts us to raise our consciousness for the next world because it is greater and permanent compared to this material world. The transliteration and translation of the verse is as follows:
Duniyâ bêch yê fânee hay,
aur mul lê âkbat kâm,
duniyâ têrê sang na rahêsee,
khub âkbat mukâm
Sell the world, it is perishable
and buy the dwelling (spiritual house) of the hereafter.
The world will not remain with you,
and all worthwhile is in the abode of hereafter.
duniyâ din châr hay,
chêt tu(n) chhod jâyesee,
eesê bêch âkbat besâlê,
wey tujê kâm ayesee ...................................138
The world lasts four days,
take heed, you will leave it;
sell it and dwell in (the awareness of) the hereafter,
this will be useful to you. .............................138
Let us pray for the blessings of ilm-u laduni (given, divine knowledge) and acquired secular knowledge so that we may have merit in the first world (i.e., the world of our Origin and Light) and this material world. May Mowla grant us the realization that we were first Light beings, then spiritual beings and now are human beings bridging the din and duniya.
Ya Ali, Ya NOOR Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam, create Sunshine in our hearts, light in our foreheads, and bless us all with the inner vision of the Truth!
Ya Ali, Ya NOOR Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam, grant the global Jamat luminous (noorani) and spiritual (ruhani) tayid (help) to advance materially, spiritually and intellectually. Ameen.
