Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

Ya Ali Madad and Ramadan Mubarak! The 24-hour clock the Muslim calendar starts sunset, therefore, Friday, May 10, 2019 is the sixth night of the Holy Ramadan for Ismailis in Canada. The background, overview, schedule, niyat and noble wishes of the 2019 Holy Ramadan Project is presented separately on the fundamental concepts page of this directory. Please go through it as often as you desire.

Ramadan Activities
The motivation for this 30-day project is to increase the intensity of prayers during the month of Holy Ramadan. For this purpose, 30 posts for each auspicious night of Holy Ramadan have been prepared. Each post will consist of four parts:

  1. Enlightenment teachings from the Holy Qu'ran;
  2. Excerpt)s) from 'A Code of Conduct—A Treatise of the Etiquette of the Fatimid Ismaili Mission';
  3. A Dhikr tasbi; and
  4. Angelic salwat

Part 1: Enlightenment Teachings from the Holy Qu'ran

Part 2: An excerpt from 'A Code of Conduct—A Treatise of the Etiquette of the Fatimid Ismaili Mission'
In 'al-Risāla al-mūjaza al-kāfiya fī of Ahmad b.Ibrāhīm al-Naysbūrī has written the following gem:

"[§9] He who summons to God, to the imams, on whom be peace, must himself perform good deeds, maintain prayers, both outwardly and inwardly, and pay alms tax, outwardly and inwardly, in compliance with the command of his superior. He will be a worshipper, and one who commands good deeds and does them. He who is not knowledgeable, nor does good deeds, does not maintain the appeal or emanate knowledge upon those who deserve it among the novices he is supposed to educate, he is not fit to be a dâ'î."

Part 3: Dhikr Tasbi
Sincere repentance is the foundation for all our religious ceremonies because it purifies our souls, stops us from sinning, and prepares us for enlightenment. Sincere repentance is also applicable to all our actions in the material and spiritual worlds because it is tied to the whole purification process. It has to be done with conviction and persistent practice.

We must also realize that the true spirit for asking for forgiveness is the intention of not committing the same sins again. This spirit should be fully respected, therefore, one has to make a list of one's errors, omissions and sins and take a vow of not committing these acts again. Only then the act of seeking forgiveness becomes a sincere repentance.

Let us recite Yâ Ghafuur, Yâ Ghaffâr, Yâ Tawwâb, and Yâ Afuw tasbis in order to clear the path of our return journey to our Creator.
