Timeless Batini-Noorani Bandagi Gems for the Global Jamat
Gem No. 11: What are the benefits of concentrating in bandagi?
Ya Ali Madad! This post has five parts:
1. A knowledge section on bandagi;
2. A dhikr section to activate the soul;
3. 5-verses of Giryah-u zâri from Anant Nâ Nav Chhugâ presented sequentially;
4. A prayer card for the well being and health our most beloved NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam and his family, the upliftment the global Jamat, global Muslim community, and humanity at large, and the salvation of all departed souls; and
5. A prayer for the global Jamat.
1. Knowledge Section on Bandagi:
Let us reflect on the following teaching of Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah (a.s.)
"Jêo das minute ek dhiyânthi ibâdat kari shakê chhê têoni chalis varasni ibâdat kartâ vadhâre ibâdatno faydo ha(n)shal thây chhê anê châlis varas karta vadhu kabul thâya chhê. "
Literal translation: Those who can concentrate for ten minutes in bandagi will get the benefit of 40 years of bandagi (done without concentration) and will get the acceptance of having performed more than of 40 years of bandagi.
(Karachi, 3-5-1920)
Please refer to post number 10 for Mowla's methods of concentrating in bandagi. Concentration is power which leads to enlightenment provided all other actions as described in the curriculum for higher spiritual enlightenment are met. Let us pray for a Golden Noorani Didar in our foreheads! Ameen.
2. Dhikr Section:
For today's session, let us use a bouquet of Ya Wali, Ya Karim tasbi to appreciate the Lord's protection and generosity upon us.

3. Anant Nâ Nav Chhugâ Verses (Chhugo Number 6, verses 1 to 5):
Question and Answer for a dominant theme in Anant Nâ Nav Chhugâ
One of the members of the SalmanSpiritual.com has asked me to explain the concept of 'the wife' and 'the husband' in the granth of nant Nâ Nav Chhugâ. Here is a short and a simple answer to this question.
The sixth verse of the first chhugo provides a context for the two granths of Pir Hasan Kabirdin. The Holy Pir composed 500 verses of Anant Akhado and wrote them on cotton-like substance. This was folded into a turban. He then composed 90 verses and made nine tussles (chhugas). In order to present his voluminous work to the Holy Imam, the inspired Pir composed 90 verses of supplication which demonstrate his absolute devotion, humility and submission.
In these Anant Nâ Nav Chhugâ verses, the Lord is symbolized as a husband (nar) and the Pir is symbolized as a spiritual wife (nari). All other souls are symbolized as children. Therefore, the Pir becomes the entity which nurtures and educates the Jamat, and prepares the members to come closer to the Holy Imam. The sheer responsibility of being a mother was (is) a great burden, therefore after performing intense giryah-u zari and bandagi, the Pir begs the Holy Imam to accept the turban. This physical act of submitting the turban with nine tussles also symbolizes a tremendous amount of humility, love and work, therefore the stakes are really high. Now let us read the verse and its literal meaning.
Âshâji | nav chhugâni pâgaj vani tê kidhi gharni nârji havê paghadi bâ(n)dho e var râjâ jê lâvi tamâri nâr Hari ana(n)t ................................... |
|
Oh Lord | A turban of nine tussles only has been folded and it has been done by the (devoted) housewife Now put on the turban, Oh the Protector King the one that has been brought by your wife Hari You are eternal; ........................ |

In this context, I would request the members to downloaded a document which has three verses of supplication from Anant Akhado in Gujrati text with English transliteration and translation. These were the three verses which were recited at the Dubai Darbar. We, too, used our spiritual mother's words to supplicate to our beloved NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam. Look at the power of giriyah-u zari of Pir Hasan Kabirdin. There are no words to describe the impact of his works!
I view his voluminous works as a nazrana of time and knowledge that he submitted to Imam Islamshah. The impact of this unique contribution has moved the Jamat over many, many generations!

4. Prayer Card
Niyat and Wish List:
Let us first declare our noble intentions and then invoke the angelic salwat for exoteric and esoteric purposes. Ya Ali, Ya NOOR Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam, we pray for:
"It is mentioned in verse (33:33): "O you the people of the house (of the Prophet)! Verily Allah intends but to keep off from you (every kind of) uncleanness and purify you with a thorough purification." By the people of the house or ahl-i bayt are meant the holy Prophet himself, Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Fatimah, Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat Husayn."[Source: Muslim, IV, 1883; Tirmidhi, V, 663)
Now let us recite angelic salwats to invoke Divine grace and mercy.
