Anant Akhado Verses, Gratitude Tasbi & Angelic Salwat for Day 19
Thursday, Jun. 20, 2019

Part 1: Recitation of Anant Akhado

On the 19th day of the project, we will be reciting verses 226 to 237 of Anant Akhado. The hyperlink given below will lead you to all the verses and their literal meaning for today's recitation.

In verse 236, Pir Hasan Kabirdin describes the subtle body of momins in paradise. The purified momins will have luminous body which will shine like gold. Spiritually and intellectually these momins will be blessed with ilm-u-laduni (given knowledge). The speech of these souls will be purifed and sweet.

The concept of knowledge has been described in the following quotation of Imam Shah Karim al-Husayni, also known as Aga Khan IV, on the occasion of the acceptance of the Charter of the Aga Khan University in Karachi on March 16, 1983:

In Islamic belief, knowledge is twofold. There is that revealed through the Holy Prophet (upon whom be peace) and that which man discovers by virtue of his own intellect. Nor do these two involve any contradiction, provided man remembers that his own mind is itself the creation of God. Without this humility, no balance is possible. With it, there are no barriers. Indeed one strength of Islam has always lain in its belief that creation is not static but continuous, that through scientific and other endeavors, God has opened and continues to open new windows for us to see the marvels of His creation.
Aga Khan IV, Karachi on March 16, 1983

In order to develop a balance between the material and spiritual dimensions of one's existence, two different kinds of knowledge are necessary. The first is related to the physical world and is acquired through cultural learning and life-long education. The second is related to the spiritual world and is given to a person. Pir Hasan Kabirdin has described the state of a soul which has been bestowed with given knowledge (ilm-u-laduni).

Âshâji sahunê hâthê mânak moti
zalkê hirâ apârji
sonâ kêri kâyâ zalkê
hoshê amrat vânI
Hari ana(n)t 236
Oh Lord In everyone's hands there are jewels and pearls
and the diamonds shine abundantly
Like gold the bodies will shine (will exude love)
and the speech will be sweet (truthful)
Hari You are eternal; 236
