Thirtieth Night of Holy Ramadan :: Sunday, October 22, 2006

Ya Ali Madad and Ramadan Mubarak! The 24-hour clock the Muslim calendar starts sunset, therefore, Sunday, October 22, 2006 is the thirtieth night of the Holy Ramadan for Ismailis in Canada. This posting for this auspicious thirtieth night of Holy Ramadan has four parts:   1. Ta'wil of selected words from the Holy Qur'an; 2. A verse from beautiful ginans of our Holy Pirs; 3. A list of pertinent web resources for this project.   Part 1: Tawil of the word 'Ishq' (Heavenly love, i.e., the love for God, the Prophet and the Imam of the time) "O my spiritual brothers and sisters! May you progress so much in knowledge, 'ibadat, humility, supplication, service, good manners and love for the light, that the veil may be lifted for you and you may have the luminous (noorani) didar and gradually experience the first (at the level of soul), the second (at the level of intellect) and the third (at the level of oneness) annihilations and that may you be enriched with everlasting wealth of knowledge and recognition." Create the conditions for me to bow at your feet Oh Lord, and for my eyes to meet Your sweet eyes, O Beloved. In my heart bestow only Your mercy. Oh my Most Merciful, Oh my Master, Oh my Compassionate one. It is also known as the verse of the Throne. Ayatul Kursi and Angelic Salwat are among the great treasures for preparing for the Golden Jubilee Didar and the Golden Noorani Didar in one's forehead. Man-zallazii yashfa-'u'indahuuu 'illaa bi-'iznih? Ya'-lamu maa bayna 'aydiihim wa maa khalfahum. Wa laa yuhiituuna bi-shay-'im-min 'ilmihiii 'illaa bimaa shaaa'. Wasi-'a Kursiyyu-hus-Samaawaati wal-'arz; wa laa ya-'uuduhuu hifzu -humaa wa Huwal-'Aliyyul-'Aziim. Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime,the Tremendous.
