Twenty First Night of Holy Ramadan :: Friday, October 13, 2006

Ya Ali Madad and Ramadan Mubarak! The 24-hour clock the Muslim calendar starts sunset, therefore, Friday, October 13, 2006 is the twenty first night of the Holy Ramadan for Ismailis in Canada. This posting for this auspicious twenty first night of Holy Ramadan has four parts:   1. Ta'wil of selected words from the Holy Qur'an; 2. A verse from beautiful ginans of our Holy Pirs; 3. A different dhikr tasbi; and 4. A list of pertinent web resources for this project.   Part 1: Tawil of the words 'Habl Allah' (Rope of Allah, Imam of the time) "God has sent the rope of His holy light from the higher world to the inhabitants of the lower world for the purpose that they may all together hold it fast so that they may be lifted to the higher world (3:103). Externally the luminous rope of Allah is the holy personality of the Imam of the time and internally it is his ever-reaching light. The holy light of the Imam of the time comes to you specially through ism-i a'zam (the supreme Name). Thus the Imam within (batin) you is the rope of Allah in the position of the ism-i a'zam, to which you have to hold fast in such a way that all faculties of the heart and the mind are turned towards and centered upon it." Eji sohâg sâmi mârâ âpajo jê anatthi uthâya unâ purâ jê âshvan(n)tâ sâmi sarvê pâr la(n)gâya mahêr karo morâ sâ(n)hiyâ abarâ sharan tamâri 0 Lord, Bless me with (spiritual) union so that I can bear the burden of innumerable souls. Imperfect, perfect and even hopeful souls who come to Thee, 0 Lord, grant them all salvation. Have mercy on me, my Lord.
