Seventh Night of Holy Ramadan :: Friday, September 29, 2006

Ya Ali Madad and Ramadan Mubarak! The 24-hour clock the Muslim calendar starts sunset, therefore, Friday, September 29, 2006 is the seventh night of the Holy Ramadan for Ismailis in Canada. This posting for this auspicious seventh night of Holy Ramadan has four parts:   1. Ta'wil of selected words from the Holy Qur'an; 2. A verse from beautiful ginans of our Holy Pirs; 3. Power prayers consisting of Ayatul Kursi and Angelic Salwat; and 4. A list of pertinent web resources for this project.   Part 1: Tawil of the word 'Sabab' (Rope, means) "Internally the Qur'an and 'itrat (ahl-i bayt = Imam) are the same one light which is like a rope or ladder between the heaven and the earth, and this is also the straight path. This rope is extended from the supreme heaven to the earth, so that people may reach the Lord of the Throne through this rope or ladder of knowledge and recognition. This is the most marvellous as well as the most understandable example. Thus, when an 'arif gradually progresses upwards, at every level he sees the Qur'an and the Imam in form of one Light. He sees the upper end of this luminous rope even in the presence of God, which is the great Qur'an and the manifest Imam." These verses of supplication soften, heal and purify the soul, and prepare it for enlightenment.   Part 3 Power Prayers: Ayatul Kursi (Holy Qur'an 2:255) and Angelic Salwat   Ayatul Kursi (Holy Qur'an 2:255) is the most important ayat of the Holy Qur'an. It is also known as the verse of the Throne. Ayatul Kursi and Angelic Salwat are among the great treasures for preparing for the Golden Jubilee Didar and the Golden Noorani Didar in one's forehead. Man-zallazii yashfa-'u'indahuuu 'illaa bi-'iznih? Ya'-lamu maa bayna 'aydiihim wa maa khalfahum. Wa laa yuhiituuna bi-shay-'im-min 'ilmihiii 'illaa bimaa shaaa'. Wasi-'a Kursiyyu-hus-Samaawaati wal-'arz; wa laa ya-'uuduhuu hifzu -humaa wa Huwal-'Aliyyul-'Aziim. Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime,the Tremendous.
