Twenty Eighth Night of Holy Ramadan :: Oct. 31, 2005
|
Ya Ali Madad! In the Muslim calendar, a new month begins at sunset, therefore, Monday, October 31, 2005 is the twenty eighth night of the Holy Ramadan for Ismailis in Canada. This posting for this auspicious twenty eighth night of Holy Ramadan has three parts: Part 1 has a gem of knowledge from Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, or "Advices of Manliness" of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II; Part 2 has two beautiful verses of ginan composed by Pir Abdul Nabi; and Part 3 has a zikr tasbi which will change every three days.
Let is first read the following esoteric list of noble wishes for 30 days because it is the basis of our ardent supplication to our beloved NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam:
Ya Mowla, Ya Wali, Ya Karim, Ya Ali, Ya NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam:
- bless us with faith by sending the bounty of Ruhu'l-iman (i.e., spiritual and luminous particles of the soul of faith) into our personal worlds from your Pure Soul and Eternal Light;
- forgive our sins, mistakes and oversights and make us staunch, obedient (farman bardari) mu'mins;
- keep us on the Right Path, the path illuminated by the Light of Eternal Ali;
- purify our souls through the blessings derived from our additional dhikr and help us live a balanced life;
- make us regular in our morning and evening prayers;
- bless us with inspiration, strength, courage and conviction to practise luminous prayer (bandagi) at the luminous time (small watches of the night) with the luminious word (bol, ism-i azam or Ya Ali tasbi);
- bestow enlightenment to our souls and bless us with a 'golden noorani didar'*;
- usher us in the abode of peace (Dar-as-Salaam) and grant us eternal existence. Ameen.
Part 1: Teaching of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.)
In Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.) teaches us how to become staunch, obedient (farman bardari) mu'mins, and how submit to our Lord NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam, the Imam of the time, and the Lord of the world and of all who inhabit it.

"The (real) believer is one whose words (iqrar wa qawl) are unshakeable and true (haqq), whose thoughts of the heart are true, whose promise, whose love and affection are true. From head to foot that slave of God must be sincere and true (haqq). He must be sweet-worded and mild, his soul (ruh) must be sincere. He must be continually preoccupied with the remembrance of God (dhikr), always remaining in meditation (bandagi) and dhikr and praise of God, lauding and recognising God the All-High (Shinakht-i Haqq ta'ala). His actions must be pious, his behaviour proper. He must carry out the commandments and injunctions of his Lord (Khudawand) and pir. He must keep on his tongue the mention of Five Holy Persons (Panj Tan), mentioning and glorifying God with great affection. He recognizes his Master (Aqa), the Supreme Lord (Sahibu'l-amr), the Imam of the time, follows his path, always remaining obedient and listful (attentive) to him, delivering himself, his affairs, and everything that he possesses to that Lord (Mawla) who is the Imam of the time, and the Lord of the world and of all who inhabit it." Part 2: Teaching of Pir Abdul Nabi
In the following two verses from the Garbi, Tame japjo din raat ke, Pir Shams says that if you remember the Lord day and night, your personal world will be illuminated and when you see the Holy Light in your forehead, you will enjoy immortality. It is also clear from this and other verses of Holy Ginans, and teachings of the Holy Imams that the concepts of eternal kingdom (avichal raaj), eternal existence (baqa), amar jaat (eternal kind) are all related to the enlightenment of the personal world.
Tame japjo din raat ke,
mandir maa(n)he mahaaljo re lol |
|
Remember (the name of the Lord) day and night,
and create happiness in your personal world (sanctuary)
|
1 |
Jaa(n)ki surti laagi bharmand ke,
amar reljo re lol |
|
When the concentration is focussed at the
middle of the eye brows, you will enjoy immortality.

Part 3: Zikr Tasbi
One of the benefits of the zikr of tasbis derived from Divine names is the pardon of sins. Therefore, let us use a bouquet of Ya Haakim, Ya Wakil, Ya Fattah, Ya Salaam (O Wise, O Trustee, O Decider, O the Source of Peace) for spiritual upliftment. Real Audio sound tracks are available for your convenience.

Al-hamdu lillahi rabbil 'alamin.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!
May these gems of knowledge and sincere repentance bring light and barakat into your personal world! Ameen.
Peace, barakat, light, taid**, and a 'golden noorani didar'*,
Noorallah Juma
*A 'golden noorani didar' is a didar in which the full glory of Khudavand NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam's LIGHT manifests in one's forehead ('Bhamar Gufa Upar Noor' as taught by Pir Imamdin, 'O believers! the light resides in the region between the two eye brows'.)
**Ta'id is that spiritual and luminous help which is given to Prophets, Imams and the mu'mins of the highest rank, in form of a miraculous kind of knowledge and wisdom, in which spiritual beings speak to them and through visual and auditory allusions and signs, knowledge, wisdom and necessary guidance is given to them.
