Nineteenth Night of Holy Ramadan :: Oct. 22, 2005
|
Ya Ali Madad! In the Muslim calendar, a new month begins at sunset, therefore, Saturday, October 22, 2005 is the nineteenth night of the Holy Ramadan for Ismailis in Canada. This posting for this auspicious nineteenth night of Holy Ramadan has three parts: Part 1 has a gem of knowledge from Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, or "Advices of Manliness" of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II; Part 2 has a beautiful verse from Moti Venti of Pir Hasan Kabirdeen; and Part 3 has a zikr tasbi which will change every three days.
Let is first read the following esoteric list of noble wishes for 30 days because it is the basis of our ardent supplication to our beloved NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam:
Ya Mowla, Ya Wali, Ya Karim, Ya Ali, Ya NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam:
- bless us with faith by sending the bounty of Ruhu'l-iman (i.e., spiritual and luminous particles of the soul of faith) into our personal worlds from your Pure Soul and Eternal Light;
- forgive our sins, mistakes and oversights and make us staunch, obedient (farman bardari) mu'mins;
- keep us on the Right Path, the path illuminated by the Light of Eternal Ali;
- purify our souls through the blessings derived from our additional dhikr and help us live a balanced life;
- make us regular in our morning and evening prayers;
- bless us with inspiration, strength, courage and conviction to practise luminous prayer (bandagi) at the luminous time (small watches of the night) with the luminious word (bol, ism-i azam or Ya Ali tasbi);
- bestow enlightenment to our souls and bless us with a 'golden noorani didar'*;
- usher us in the abode of peace (Dar-as-Salaam) and grant us eternal existence. Ameen.
Part 1: Teaching of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.)
In Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.) teaches us about the recognition of the Light of the Imam and the recognition of oneself:
"Man attains the recognition of his Creator when he acquires knowledge of himself. First you must acquire the knowledge of your body, limb by limb. You should realize that it has not come into existence by itself, but has been created by some one else. Then you should reflect: who is this who has created me? For what purpose? Where is he going to take me? — Then you will see that if your body maintains a state of balance in its elements, it will be free from disease. Otherwise its condition will be upset. He must then abstain from unsuitable foods. He may thus infer that if one abstains from excesses, in every thing observes a proper measure, not deviating from it to either side, and if he purifies his moral self, whenever he discovers in himself the properties of brutes and beasts, he then acquires human properties, and purifies himself.
And when his heart has become pure, and doubt and dishonesty leave his mind, when, he acquires certainty in the recognition of the Imam of his time, seeing him as everywhere present before him, looking upon him, he then reaches the stage of self evident certainty ('ilmu'l-yakin), and attains the stage of absolute truth (haqqu'l-yaqin) when his heart becomes enlightened by the absolute light and in that light he begins to see his soul (jan). Thereafter he begins to see with absolute self-evidence the place in which his Creator is." (page 38)

Part 2: Teaching of Pir Hasan Kabirdin
In the following verse from Moti Venti, Pir Hasan Kabirdin teaches us that all the sins are forgiven when the remembrance of the Lord becomes continuous within the person's whole being. This means the soul reaches its ultimate purity when a person reaches the stage of constant, automatic remembrance (ajampiya jamp) of the Lord. This incredible definition of forgiveness of sins is from the treasury of the Holy Ginans.

| 0 Lord, |
I have been imploring you since the beginning
(the time I have been separated from you)
and I remember you with every breath.
If I feel your presence in every cell of my body,
then all my sins will vanish.
Have mercy on me, my Lord.
I am helpless and dependent on you. |

Please follow this link (http://www.salmanspiritual.com/ramadan_ginans/ginan_19.html) to see the text and the literal translation of the other verses of Moti Venti. These verses of supplication soften, heal and purify the soul, and prepare it for enlightenment.
Part 3: Zikr Tasbi
The following excerpt from Supplications of Amir al-mu'minin, Hazrat NOOR Mowlana Murtaza Ali (a.s.) will form a pillar for this project (Source: KHUTBA-81: A lesson about how to pray for His forgiveness, p. 46 Nahjul-Balagha). Please take a moment to read this supplication often in order to gain maximum benefit:
- Lord! Forgive my sins which Thou know better than I.
- Lord! If I repeat these sins please let Thy forgiveness cover them again.
- Lord! I have always promised myself to obey Thy commands and have always broken these promises. Forgive this weakness of mine.
- Lord! I have always declared that I shall come near Thee but my mind (has) opposed this, forgive this fault of my mind.
- Lord! Forgive the sins committed by my eyes. Forgive my vicious and sinful utterances, and forgive my inability to resist temptations. (Ameen)
One of the benefits of salwat tasbi is pardon of sins. Therefore, let us use a bouquet of salwats for the purification of our souls. Real Audio sound tracks are available for your convenience.

Al-hamdu lillahi rabbil 'alamin.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!
May these gems of knowledge and sincere repentance bring light and barakat into your personal world! Ameen.
Peace, barakat, light, taid**, and a 'golden noorani didar'*,
Noorallah Juma
*A 'golden noorani didar' is a didar in which the full glory of Khudavand NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam's LIGHT manifests in one's forehead ('Bhamar Gufa Upar Noor' as taught by Pir Imamdin, 'O believers! the light resides in the region between the two eye brows'.)
**Ta'id is that spiritual and luminous help which is given to Prophets, Imams and the mu'mins of the highest rank, in form of a miraculous kind of knowledge and wisdom, in which spiritual beings speak to them and through visual and auditory allusions and signs, knowledge, wisdom and necessary guidance is given to them.
