Sixteenth Night of Holy Ramadan :: Oct. 19, 2005

Ya Ali Madad! In the Muslim calendar, a new month begins at sunset, therefore, Tuesday, October 18, 2005 is the fifteenth night of the Holy Ramadan for Ismailis in Canada. This posting for this auspicious fifteenth night of Holy Ramadan has three parts: Part 1 has a gem of knowledge from Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, or "Advices of Manliness" of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II; Part 2 has a beautiful verse from Moti Venti of Pir Hasan Kabirdeen; and Part 3 has a zikr tasbi which will change every three days.   Let us first read the following esoteric list of noble wishes for 30 days because it is the basis of our ardent supplication to our beloved NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam: Ya Mowla, Ya Wali, Ya Karim, Ya Ali, Ya NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam: bless us with faith by sending the bounty of Ruhu'l-iman (i.e., spiritual and luminous particles of the soul of faith) into our personal worlds from your Pure Soul and Eternal Light; forgive our sins, mistakes and oversights and make us staunch, obedient (farman bardari) mu'mins; keep us on the Right Path, the path illuminated by the Light of Eternal Ali; purify our souls through the blessings derived from our additional dhikr and help us live a balanced life; make us regular in our morning and evening prayers; bless us with inspiration, strength, courage and conviction to practise luminous prayer (bandagi) at the luminous time (small watches of the night) with the luminious word (bol, ism-i azam or Ya Ali tasbi); bestow enlightenment to our souls and bless us with a 'golden noorani didar'*; usher us in the abode of peace (Dar-as-Salaam) and grant us eternal existence. Ameen. Part 1: Teaching of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.) In Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.) teaches us about submission of dasond (mal-i wajibat) and about our first duty towards the Holy Imam: "The tithe has been established by the King of Men Murtada 'Ali. He commanded the adepts of the Truth (haqiqatiyyan) saying that every one who is the follower of the Truth (ahi-i haqiqat), and has the desire of his didar, must pay (submit) the tithe from his income. By this he may secure the chance of the didar. The followers of the Shariat do not know and realize the implications (or symbolism, ramz) of this commandment. Thus every one who has connection with the Imam of the time must always pay (submit) his (religious) duty, i.e., the tithe, which is due to the Imam of the time, delivering it, and being ready to sacrifice at his command his own life and (the whole of) his property." (pages 55-56) Part 2: Teaching of Pir Hasan Kabirdin In the following verse from Moti Venti, Pir Hasan Kabirdin teaches us that there are millions of purified souls in paradise. Therefore, it will be a great challenge for us to be deserving to be present in that congregation. The Holy Pir is teaching us to supplicate to Mowla for forgiveness of our sins and beg for mercy, and become more deserving to be in his Holy Presence. Eji sâmiji nâriyu(n) tâmâri ati ghâni muj sarikhi lakho lakh tamê chho alak niri(n)jan amê chhiê dhuri khâk mahêr karo morâ sâ(n)hiyâ abarâ sharan tamâri 0 Lord, Your (spiritual) maidens are innumerable. There are hundred of thousands like me. You are the Unknowable (Alakh), the Unseen (Niranjan) While we are as insignificant as dust. Have mercy on me, my Lord. These verses of supplication soften, heal and purify the soul, and prepare it for enlightenment.   Part 3: Zikr Tasbi Repentance is the mechanism to return to our Creator therefore it is appropriate to use the tasbi "Astaghafirullahi Rabbi Wa Atubu Ilayhi (Verily, I seek the forgiveness of Allah, who is my Lord and Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance)" to implement this Divine command. Therefore, let us use a bouquet of Astaghafirullahi Rabbi Wa Atubu Ilayhi tasbi to clear the path of our return journey to our Creator. Real Audio sound tracks are available for your convenience. Astaghafirullahi Rabbi Wa Atubu Ilayhi (10) (Verily, I seek the forgiveness of Allah, who is my Lord and Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance.) Al-hamdu lillahi rabbil 'alamin. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!   May these gems of knowledge and sincere repentance bring light and barakat into your personal world! Ameen.   Peace, barakat, light, taid**, and a 'golden noorani didar'*, Noorallah Juma   *A 'golden noorani didar' is a didar in which the full glory of Khudavand NOOR Mowlana Hazir Imam's LIGHT manifests in one's forehead ('Bhamar Gufa Upar Noor' as taught by Pir Imamdin, 'O believers! the light resides in the region between the two eye brows'.)   **Ta'id is that spiritual and luminous help which is given to Prophets, Imams and the mu'mins of the highest rank, in form of a miraculous kind of knowledge and wisdom, in which spiritual beings speak to them and through visual and auditory allusions and signs, knowledge, wisdom and necessary guidance is given to them.
