Giryah-u zâri, Moti Venti and Salwat Project for Navroz 2008
Golden Jubilee Darbar in Dubai and Golden Noorani Didar in our Foreheads
Tuesday, March 11, 2008 to Friday, March 21, 2008

Spark No. 8 :: Tuesday, March 18, 2008

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

Ya Ali Madad. I have articulated this project for Navroz 2008 to increase yearning for the Holy Didar of our beloved Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam. The ten postings for this project have the following components: (1) a prayer card for the well being and health our most beloved NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam and his family, the upliftment the global Jamat, global Muslim community, and humanity at large, and the salvation of all departed souls; (2) knowledge about Giryah-u zari; (3) 5-verses of Moti Venti presented sequentially; and (4) angelic salwat. On the most auspicious occasion of the upcoming Idd-e-Navroz of this momentous Golden Jubilee year, may the rays of the Light of our beloved NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam enrich and empower each and every being in different spheres of existence in innumerable ways. Ameen.

Part 1: Prayer Card for the Well-being and Health of the Whole Noorani Family

Let us first declare our noble intentions and then invoke the angelic salwat for exoteric and esoteric purposes:

Ya Ali, Ya NOOR Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam, we pray for:

  1. The well being and health of the whole NOORANI family;
  2. Protection from the elements of dross and darkness;
  3. Sunshine in hearts, Light in our foreheads and the blessing of the inner vision of the Truth;
  4. Mushkil Aasan and material, spiritual & intellectual upliftment of the global Jamat, the global Muslim community and humanity at large;
  5. Salvation of all departed souls;
  6. Empowerment of our children with the correct understanding of our holy faith; and
  7. External and internal peace for the whole humanity.

Part 2: Knowledge Component:

Role Models of Giryah-u zâri: "The verse in which it (giryah-u zâri) is praised (in Holy Qur'an) is: "These (Prophets) are they on whom God bestowed favours, from among the Prophets of the seed of Adam and of those whom We guided with Nuh and of the seed of Ibrahim and Israel and of those We guided and chose; when the verses of the Beneficent God were recited to them, they fell down prostrating and weeping (19:58). This is the most exalted place of all the sacred tears, i.e., the pure eyes of the Prophets and Awliya." [Source: Healing through knowledge, p.120]

The following quotation links giryah-u zâri to the blessing of given (realized or inspired) knowledge:
"See the verses (17:107-109): "Say believe in it (the Qur'an) or believe not; surely those who are given the (inspired) knowledge before it, fall down on their faces, prostrating when it is recited to them. And they say: Glory be our Lord! most surely the promise of our Lord was to be fulfilled. And they fall down on their faces weeping and it adds to their humility". Here Giryah-u zâri appears on the peak of knowledge." [Source: Studies in Dream and Spiritualism, p.26]

Please also note the tight connection between giryah-u zâri, the practice of bandagi (luminous prayer) with ism-i azm (bol, luminous word) at a luminous time (noorani waqt), and salvation of the soul in the Moti Venti verses in the section below.

Part 3: Recitation of Selected Verses from Pir Hasan Kabirdin's Moti Venti for Day 8:

Eji sâmi tamârâ nâmnê partapê kari

0 Lord, With the blessings of your(sacred) name (ism-e azam),
I can reach paradise.
However, I am ambushed by thieves (who steal my concentration).
On hearing (sacred) name (ism-e azam), they will flee.
Have mercy on me, my Lord.
I am helpless and dependent on you.
36
Eji sâmi ati dukh chhê saragni vatmâ(n)

0 Lord, Innumerable are the tribulations on the road to the Eternal,
which will vanish with Your (sacred) name (ism-e azam).
You are the only True Guide,
known by different names and mysteries.
Have mercy on me, my Lord.
I am helpless and dependent on you.
37
Eji sâmi tamârâ nâmnê partapê kari
mahâ samudhra dêvê mârag

lâgu(n) tamârê pâya
mahêr karo morâ sâ(n)hiyâ
abarâ sharan tamâri
0 Lord, With the remembrance of your sacred) name (ism-e azam),
even the vast ocean makes a path.
My Master, have compassion and show your presence,
I bow before Thee.
Have mercy on me, my Lord.
I am helpless and dependent on you.
38
Eji sâmi gad gad ka(n)thê tamnê vinvu(n)

velâ thainê sâmi âvjo
mâro bharjoban rahyo nav jâya
mahêr karo morâ sâ(n)hiyâ
abarâ sharan tamâri
0 Lord, I implore you with an emotionally heavy voice
because I experience the anguish of our separation.
My Lord, come to me soon
while I am still in my youthful age.
Have mercy on me, my Lord.
I am helpless and dependent on you.
39
Eji sâmi kaljugni najaru(n) u(n)dhiyu(n)

abarâ sharan tamâri
0 Lord, In this age of decadence, peoples' intentions are not always sincere.
They look with evil intentions.
0 Lord, should I be misled,
I would be destroyed (physically and spiritually).
Have mercy on me, my Lord.
I am helpless and dependent on you.

Part 4: Angelic Salwat

"It is mentioned in verse (33:33): "O you the people of the house (of the Prophet)! Verily Allah intends but to keep off from you (every kind of) uncleanness and purify you with a thorough purification." By the people of the house or ahl-i bayt are meant the holy Prophet himself, Hazrat Ali, Hazrat Fatimah, Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat Husayn. (Muslim, IV, 1883; Tirmidhi, V, 663)" [Source: Tawil 144: A Thousand Wisdoms]

Now let us recite angelic salwats to invoke Divine grace, mercy and internal purification.
